Las Vegas - The Weeknd ist der große Favorit bei den diesjährigen Billboard Music Awards.
Der kanadische Musiker hat in 16 Kategorien satte 19 Nominierungen erhalten, unter anderem in den Kategorien "Bester Künstler", "Bestes Album" oder auch "Bester Song". In der Kategorie "Bester R'n'B-Song" geht er sogar mit drei Songs ins Rennen: seinen Hits "Can't Feel My Face", "Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey)" und "The Hills". Nicht minder gute Chancen auf mehrere Auszeichnungen hat allerdings auch sein Landsmann Justin Bieber, der mit zwölf Nominierungen an den Start geht. Adele und Taylor Swift müssen sich hingegen mit "nur" acht Nominierung zufriedengeben. Wer die begehrten Billboard Music Awards mit nach Hause nehmen wird, erfahren wir am 22. Mai. Dann geht die Preisverleihung in Las Vegas über die Bühne.
