Biografie

Die US-amerikanische Indie-Pop-Band Black Kids wurde im März 2006 in Jacksonville (Florida, USA) gegründet. Anfangs spielten sie vor allem Konzerte in Jacksonville und Umgebung, oder traten dort als Support-Act für Bands auf.

Am 11.08.2007 spielten die Black Kids auf dem Athens Popfest in Athens (Georgia, USA), was ihnen massive Präsenz in der Musikpresse einbrachte. Ausserdem steigerten sie ihre Bekanntheit durch den kostenlosen Download-Song "Wizard of Ahhhs" auf ihrer MySpace Seite.

Im Sommer 2008 erschien dann das in Großbritannien aufgenommene Black Kids Debutalbum "Partie Traumatic". Die erste Single "I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You" stieg auf Platz 11 der UK-Charts ein.
