Die Us-amerikanische R'n'B- und Soulsängerin, Songwriterin und Produzentin Keyshia Cole wurde am 15.10.1981 in Oakland (Kalifornien, USA) geboren.
Bereits 2003 erhielt sie einen Plattenvertrag bei A&M-Records, ihr Debutalbum "The Way It Is" erschien jedoch erst Mitte 2005 - dafür mit Produktionen namhafter Künstler und Produzenten wie Alicia Keys, Kanye West und John Legend. Die CD verkaufte sich in den USA mehr als eine Million Mal und erreichte so Platin-Status.
2006 lieferte Keyshia Cole zusammen mit Sean Paul mit dem Song "Give It Up to Me" den Titelsong zum Film "Step Up". Ausserdem sang sie auf Singles der Rapper-Kollegen P. Diddy und Young Jeezy.
Ende 2007 erschien dann das zweite Album "Just Like You", wieder mit der Unterstützung von Kanye West und John Legend, ausserdem waren diesmal auch R. Kelly, Missy Elliott und Lil' Kim dabei. Es kam in den offiziellen US-Billboard-Charts bis auf den zweiten Platz und erreichte Platin-Status.
Etwa ein Jahr später, am 16.12.2008, erschien das dritte Album unter dem Titel "A Different Me". Keyshia erreichte damit bereits in der ersten Woche die Platzierung des Vorgängers, cirka 322.000 Tausend Exemplare wanderten über die Ladentische.
